Dandelion Tales

Do you remember when you first discovered this little "flower"?
While we were outside watching the birds today I gave a dandelion to Brock just to see what he would do. after about 10 minutes of twisting, and turning and pulling of the petals, he tried eating it. {I took it away before it actual got to his mouth} I gave him a new one to discover, another 10 minutes of twisting and turning and pulling of the petals, and then again to the mouth it went.
Needless to say I didn't give him another one after that!

11 months down one more to go!

Can you believe how fast this little guy is growing?

Just one month to go and our little guy will be a year old.

Just got back...

from a quick trip to the doctor's to check out Brock's cough. To tell you the truth I haven't been too worried about it, but Ryszard has, so to put him at ease I took Brock in. His overall heath is at 100% . he does have a little bit of a tight cough, and the Nurse Practitioner and I decided to try a little bit of Benadyl and a humidifier also a fun little trick I know about vapor rub on the bottom of his feet at night. Although I have been reluctant to test this one. Brock does wear a brace at night and using oils and creams on his feet are not suggested. {Due to a great chance of developing blisters, but hopefully if I only use a light amount and only on the bottome of his feet he'll be okay!}
We were able to weigh him really quick and he's gained almost a full pound this past month and now weighs 23 lbs and 13.5 oz! {we're nipping at cousin Riley's heels} :)

Should Be World Famous

I have loved poppy seed bread since I was little. {My Mom always made yummy homemade bread!}
I have been wanting to make some poppy seed bread for a while now, but never really had the time, nor all the ingredients. Last week I finally gathered everything up and made my Mom's poppy seed bread recipe. This is by far the best recipe ever, and should be WORLD FAMOUS!

Combine:
1 1/8 cups oil
1 1/2 cups milk
2 1/4 cups sugar
Add:
3 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. each of poppy seeds, vanilla, almond extract, and butter flavoring.
Mix together then add:
3 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda

mix together and pour into greased bread pans. *makes 3 med sized loves or 4 small and 1 medium. {I personally love the little bitty small loaves} Bake for 40-45 min. @ 350 degrees.

Warning: this is way yummy and you may find yourself eating a whole loaf all by yourself!
I love making a quick lemon glaze and pouring over the bread while it is slightly warm.

The Story Of A Boy...

...and his HAT!
I'm at it again trying to get some cute pictures of Brock wearing the adorable hat! It came with matching shorts, but every time I tried to get a full body shot he would move right when I took the picture, leaving me with a very blurry image, {snap}
Then as I started snapping away he would pull the hat off. Now I kind of knew he might not want to wear it very long; but I really, really, really wanted to get a cute shot of him wearing it. Needless to say I brought on the toys to distract him.
So there's the story of this little boy and his Hat!

Have keys will drive!

Honestly, I'm not a big fan of driving, Brock on the other hand is 10 months going on 16years! He has taken the keys and has no intention of slowing down!

He did take some time to test drive a few of the latest models.

Okay so he's not really driving, but he sure did love these cars at the play space in the mall.
I'm not a huge fan of these play areas, they always look so gross and dirty. But Brock noticed it last week and I just could not say no. He was going nuts over all the kids playing inside. There was one little boy who came right up to him to say "HI", Brock followed him around the rest of the time, always laughing hysterically every time that little boy came up to him.
Brock loves being around other people, especially kids. Ryszard and I did end up going out for dinner on our anniversary Saturday night, and Brock loved waving hi to everyone around us! It was too CUTE!

A Wrestler

Some of you may have heard that my husband at one point in time was considering the art of Professional Wrestling as a career possibility. {I am happy to say that this was long before I met him!} When we were trying to decide on a name for our little Bubbas, Ryszard loved the suggestion made by his brother, TITAN, {Which I believe was suggested as a joke!}. I was none too thrilled about this name. I mean come on Titan??? Isn't that the name of a truck?!
"That's the idea!" said Ryszard. "No one will mess with a guy as big as a truck!"
I should have known right then that I was in for trouble.
We ended up settling on Brock. {Little did I know then that Ryszard had picked this name because of a wrestler: Brock Lessner} I just thought it was cute, and so much better than Titan! Well since Brock was a week old Ryszard has been doing little wrestling moves with him, quietly teaching him tricks and holds to use.
Today before church I was trying to get a picture of Brock and myself. Brock was somewhat distracted by the birds singing and the warm sunshine. But I did catch this:
If this isn't the face of a little wrestler in the making then I don't know what is! So Ryszard may be living out his dream through his son one of these days, {although if it were up to me I'd rather he go into a less violent sport, like bowling!} giggles :)
I also thought Brock looked totally cute in this picture. { Yes, I was in it too, but that's what I love about digital cameras and photo shop, I can crop myself out anytime I want!}
