Birthday Boy Brock

There are days when I look at this little man and cannot believe he is mine.
 6 years old!
REALLY??
So  here are a few facts about Brock right now.

height: 4 feet 1 inch
weight: 58 pounds
favorite thing to do:  play games mostly video games (clash of the clans and mind craft are his favorites but Ryszard and I had to take that away for a while due to behavior issues)
favorite part of school:  gym  (like every other 6 year old boy right!)
loves to:  go to the Beach,  to the Park, and to Utah.

he is constantly finding new ways to surprise me, and annoy me. Good thing he is so cute!
We spent the day doing what he wanted. Opening presents, Red Robin for lunch,  park play and bowling!
all topped of with yummy cake!

Happy birthday Big Boy!

Dallas at 4 moths.

Can you believe  it's been 4 months already!  We all are so in love with our big big baby!  He had 3 vaccines today so he isn't too happy. Other than that he is growing right along. About a month ago I told him he could slow down a little and not rush into being such a big boy. He listened!  Instead of growing a pound each week it's now a pound every 2 weeks!   So he's gained 4 1/2 lbs since his last check up. Now weighing 21 pounds (22 when fully dressed) and 27 inches long .
So if you are keeping track (like I am) he has gained  12 pounds and grown 7 inches since birth.
 He has rolls for days.
(I could seriously do nothing else but give him kisses all day long. )
He is getting closer to turning over and loves to sit up (with help) and watch his brothers play. He gives Brock the biggest chubby cheek smiles ever.
He is super  ticklish on his chubby legs, his little toes and his double chin!

  Love love love his rolls.

Bugs... Bites... Yikes!

My poor little guy.   He was playing out side with his brother and Daddy Sunday night and Monday morning I noticed a few bug bites. I put him to bed Monday night not thinking much of it. Tuesday morning he woke up with his upper legs and bum COVERED in a rash. I was already up with Dallas who apparently had no intention of going back to bed so I handed him of to Ryszard and put Nicholas in a bath to help sooth the itching. (Nicholas has not taken a bath since he was 16 months old, so needless to say he was LOVING it) I then washed his legs and bum with a baking soda and water mixture to calm the itching and put some hydrocortizone on it once out of the bath.   We then decided to take him to the doctor to confirm it wasn't something major. .

We gave him Benadryl (at the nurses suggestion) and he conked out. The next day the swelling had gone down a bit and it wasn't itchy. I was finally was able to get him into the doctor Wednesday evening 4:00pm) turns out it was in fact a rash  Hives due to the sheer number of bug bites he had on his legs.  With another dose of  Benadryl that night and he is now back to normal.
I have always said Nicholas looks so much like I did when I was little so I guess this should be no surprise.  I was always getting the hives for no apparent reason. and mosquitoes LOVE me too.  At least now we are more prepared ( I didn't have anything for allergies in my stash ) if in fact it happens again.

Pre- K assessment!

Nicholas had his assessment today for preschool. While we waited in the gym for his name to be called he continued to lean over to me and tell me how scarred he was.
"Mommy I am really really scarred."
I reassured him that it's okay to be scared sometimes  especially when you are surrounded by a whole bunch of people you do not know, but sometimes when we do things we are scarred of we end up getting something great in return.
I then told him how "after high school I decided to leave all of my friends and family and move across the country to be a nanny!.. I didn't know a single person and I was a little bit scared but because I was willing to do something scary I was given something great , and the was meeting daddy"   that seemed to put him at ease a little bit. and then a teacher came to take him up to the room he would be doing his assessment in. 10 minutes later and after walking him up to the room myself  he walked through the doors like a champ answered every question with excitement and even got to say hello to Brock's teacher from last year.
I am constantly trying to put him in situations that might be a little scary (he is always with me so not to scary) to help ease his shyness without forcing him to be anyone other than himself.  I am excited to see how well he will adjust to being in preschool come fall.
Fingers crossed that he loves it as much as Brock did!

Mother's Day Funny

The boys filled out cute "all about my Mom" papers during a activity at church.  Just had to share!

I though they were perfect!  Love how Brock did his completely on his own especially the "5 turning 6 part".

Shriner's Checkup.

we had our 6 month check up at Shriner's Hospital for Children today to check on the progress of Brock's Clubbed feet. Yes they have been corrected ( 7 casts, and double tenotomy, full time- nightly brace wear for 4 years) but we continue to have check ups every 6 months to check his progress. measuring the rotation  and tightness of his feet. Lately he has looked and felt a little tight.  I try to continue to do his stretches and massage but honestly I've slacked a lot in staying on top of that.  (must do better). Anyway although my concerns were validated it was minor. so we go back in 6 months. Brock actually Loves going to Shriner's. he gets to pick out a sticker! If only everything was that easy!

In case you didn't already know....

Cute Chubby 3 month old fingers are the best for munching on.

Just ask Dallas! Seriously can not get enough of him!
