Diaper cake for Jackie!

Our dear friends are expecting a baby girl in just a few weeks. We are so super excited for them! I was able to attend a baby shower last weekend. I made my first diaper cake 4 years ago and loved how it turned out, since then It has become my staple gift for baby showers. A few times I have actually wanted to do something different, but Ryszard actually really likes me giving these "cakes" and even my boys love helping me make them.
So I made another one and I am  happy to say I love how it turned out.

Bunny goes hop hop.

"Bunny goes hop hop mom mom"
"Yes Nicholas it does!"
"No Mom that bunny goes hop hop" he says pointing to a little easter cottage that has been set up in the middle of the mall, with an Easter bunny sitting in a white chair ready to get it's picture taken.
Nicholas then proceeded to tell the bunny bye bye for 10 minutes while saying hop hop bunny.

Nicholas has been branching out lately. Getting a little more welcoming to strangers saying hi to him and very observant of his surroundings he is so funny. We've been talking about different animals during "school time" and he is soaking it all in. He loves to roar like a dinosaur at the birds in the trees, and is often found leaping around the house exclaiming " ribbit ribbit" My little guy is such a funny guy and I love it.

Monsters

at this moment my boys have become monsters. Brock was sleeping late and Nicholas has been patient playing by himself watching cartoons here and there. eating his marshmallow matey's cereal {more marshmallows than cereal} and being quite and content and then Brock runs in the room and Nicholas literally becomes a monster throwing toys, fighting and jumping all over the place.   He's a monster I tell you, roar and all   RRRRRRROOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!  oh but the love I have for this little guy. Brock is the same way he'll be quite and play nicely all by himself and then Nicholas will wake up from a nap and the Monster appears.
I need a vaca!

Fun at the Park

 When Brock started climbing the park structures very early on in his toddler years. Not just those little stairs the have leading up to the slides. I'm talking climbing up the slides,  up the twisted ladders and even up the "spider web" at least that is what I call it! Nicholas has always veered away from too much "adventure", but today I guess he felt big enough. He climbed the rock wall, the slides, the curved and twisted ladders and although  I was there {just in case} he wouldn't allow me to help.  I guess he's not so little anymore.

Brock met him at the bottom of a few slides and would always tell him: "I so proud of you Nick!"
 He was such a proud , happy attentive, and good big brother today at the park. {at home not so much} holding Nicholas hand all the way to the play structure, and encouraging to keep going on even the tough ladders.
It's days like this that makes me forget about those crazy times at home when they yell, scream, hit and fight each other. {BOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!}
Whenever we go to the park, we are they for at least  a few hours. today we were there for 3. as my boys ran around, climbed, swung, build wood chip cakes and banged sticks on metal posts, 25 other families came and went. Either I have 2 very active boys, or those other families just don't know what they are missing!

Sunday Morning Pics

Just and attempt to get some cute pictures of my awesome boys this morning before church. Aren't they handsome!

After church we decided to go on a little walk. I planned on just up the road and back but Brock wanted to go to our favorite little duck pond  and see the ducks and guess {I didn't bring my camera so no pics to share of that} but Nicholas walked the entire way {save the last forty yards or so.} I usuually push him in the stroller. I was so impressed! He is growing up!  {and for the record our "walk" to the pond is about a 1/2 mile  so for a 3 almost 4 year old and a 2 year old I think that is Awesome!}

We have been enjoying some warmer weather lately and have taken full advantage of it.  Today the boys and I went outside with Daddy to play football. they had a blast running around tackling each other to the ground and playing catch.

So excited for more days like this!

"Is it school time Mom?"

  I started school time with the boys at the beginning of the year everyday we do some sort of learning activity. sometimes days it's five minutes long other days it's over an hour. depending on how cooperative the boys are.  Every once in a while I feel like blowing it off and just relax then Brock comes in caring his box of crayons and his workbook, and says:  "Is it school time Mom?"

 How can you argue with that.

See What I Mean!

When a child starts to talk...

   and I mean really talk. Full sentences and all. It really makes you rethink about some of the phrases you yourself say.  {And apparently how often you say them.} Brock has been so amazing lately.  I love all the little conversations we have on a daily basis.
For instance his toliet talk.   The other day while brushing my teeth Brock came in to use the bathroom, while there he stated:
 "Mom, when people put things in the toilet and don't flush it away, it's freaking disgusting!"
{I think you can tell which 2 words I may use way too much!}
 Brock is so active and sometimes I wonder if he will ever sit still and then he asks to play Cars 2 on XBOX! aahhhh peace! Although he would stay on that thing all day if I let him.  Brock has also started calling  Nicholas Nick, not his usual Nicho just Nick. It is quite cute.
Oh and Brock has his sweet side too.  He is the one who always remembers to remind us to say a prayer before we eat. Now I'm pretty good about doing it at home, but he always reminds me to do it when we are out. It is very sweet how he says {for everyone to hear.} "Mommy we need to say the prayer!"
and my favorite~
  Brock:" Mommy, you love it?"
me: "no, not really"
Brock: "yes you do. You love it!"
{he says this every time I ask him to stop doing something.}
It amazes me just how fun this boy is.  Can't believe his fourth birthday is coming up soon.
