Diaper cake for Jackie!

Our dear friends are expecting a baby girl in just a few weeks. We are so super excited for them! I was able to attend a baby shower last weekend. I made my first diaper cake 4 years ago and loved how it turned out, since then It has become my staple gift for baby showers. A few times I have actually wanted to do something different, but Ryszard actually really likes me giving these "cakes" and even my boys love helping me make them.
So I made another one and I am  happy to say I love how it turned out.

Handmade Christmas Gifts, literally!

 I saw something completely cute on pintrest a little over a week ago and decided that's what I wanted to do for the boys grandma's this year. and then I thought I'd make a couple more for Ryszard's Aunt Louise and Cousin Keri. I'm not even sure it's they have received them yet but here's the finished project:

 It was actually really fun, but hard.  remember I did a hand print for each month, times 4. that's a total of 48 pictures some with more than one hand print. and with my boys, although they love to paint doing that many pictures in the space of 30 minutes was a bit much. next year I need something a little easier! but I love how they turned out so I'm happy.

So Babcia, Nana, Lousie and Keri I hope you like it.
  MERRY CHRISTMAS!
and a "HANDY" New Year!

Christmas Eve Fun

While the Hubby went to watch football I decided to: Do a bit of shopping, clean the house, make some yummy holiday cheese balls :), and homemade salsa :). meanwhile I let the kids watch a movie. Brock came in about 20 minutes after it started to tell me Nicholas was on the train table. A big NO NO.
So when I went into to tell him to get off I found this:

 SLEEPING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  and way too cute. I picked him up and placed him on the couch with a blanket. later on I gave in and let the boys open a gift. they both chose a gift from Nana. Nicholas got a cute fun outfit, {love it Mom} and Brock opened to find puzzles! His favorite thing EVER!!! He and Nicholas started putting it together right away

 Five minuets later it was done.
so we moved on to the next one entitled "Balloon Festival". Nicholas put many pieces together all by himself.  My boys are AWESOME!!!!! Thanks Nana for the puzzles!!! We love them.

For Palesa

Diaper cakes are my go to gift for baby showers. I love them I think they are very cute and fun, and even my boys enjoy helping me put them together.  A friend of mine is having a baby soon and I decided to do a dino theme. I quickly sewed together a little dino head and tail to complete the look. I love how it turned out

Diaper Cakes

Before the boys and I left Massachusetts for our trip out here to Utah I put together a few diaper cakes. One for our neighbors who just had anew baby boy join their family.
{Pretty simple, but I think it turned out cute, for a last minute gift}
  The other for a dear friend's  daughter Juli, who is expecting a baby girl:
This one had it all. A cute little flower clip for baby's hair, 2 butterfly print burp cloths, a pink polka dot blanket and a yellow polka dot blanket, diapers{of course} and a tutu to complete it.
Unfortunately I wasn't able to give the fun diaper cakes to the new mom and mom to be. I just hope they enjoy them. And I'm pretty sure they will.

Baby Shower Fun

My signature Baby Shower gift is to make a diaper cake. Since I was throwing a shower For Courtney,I decided to use my signature gift as part of the decor, and instead of one big cake I made 2 mini cakes and one medium sized. Just wanted to share these cake creations with you!

Tutu pictures

My niece Julia, now has her new tutu so I can finally post a picture of the final product!
Julia really liked her tutu, and actually went through and tied the ends of all the yellow tulle. {I left it up to her, because I wasn't sure if she would want it tied or not}
I also made a tutu dress for my brother's baby, Ashlyn, who is due in March.
I haven't heard if they have received it yet, I'm hoping they like it! I was really happy with the way they turned out! {Ryszard wasn't big on the knots and fun furry yarn, but them again he doesn't really know how much fun little girls are! {I really enjoy making these tutu's but wish I had a little girl to dress up! I guess my neices will have to do, for now!} I do have plans on making a dinosaur tail, and super capes for Brock for when he gets a little older and into the whole pretending/ dress up stage!

I recently finished making a special gift for my niece and although I want to keep the finished product a surprise, she wanted to have a little sneak peek. So Julia here it is:The second picture is a sneak peek for another niece Ashlyn {due in March.}
I'll be sending them off to Utah this week. So check back to see the final result in a couple of weeks!

Kati's Diaper Cake

Brock and I attended a baby shower for Kati Manzi today. I have a tradition of making diaper cakes for baby showers so here's the one I made for Kati.

I thinkI did a good job of matching the decor, What do you think?Of course there was some very yummy food, but this fruit salad was delicious!

Brianne's Diaper Cake.

This "cake" is by far my favorite yet. {I think I tend to like each one I make better then the last} Just look at it's "ingredients"!
The top layer is covered with rich chocolate icing with delicate pink flowers {a carter's onesie} and tied with a pink satin bow, the middle layer is held together with Neapolitan striped ribbon and surrounded with sweet cotton candy {a handmade pink tutu}, and the bottom layer is wrapped with a beautiful striped fondant {receiving blanket}. The whole cake is flavored PINK! With flower lollipops,
and washcloth bunnies hopping all around.
Couldn't you just indulge yourself in all that yumminess?

Hannah's Baby Shower.

Brock and I made our way out to Westfield tonight for Hannah's Baby Shower! We had a blast, plus this was the first party Brock has attended! We love parties! I had made a diaper cake for Kelly's shower back in February {Wow, was it really that long ago?} and it turned out pretty good {it was my first attempt} Ryszard suggested that I make one for Hannah, so being the loving wife I am, I followed his advice! I decided the theme for this one would be Frogs. Because, well they're cute! I also attached the cutest Frog pacifer clip by Sweet Baby Beads. These diaper cakes are so much fun to make, and pretty easy once you get the hang of it. {I guess this will be my staple baby shower gift for the next little while, I can't wait to do one for Brianne!}
Here's a picture of how it turned out!

Hope you like it Hannah, and Congratulations! { turns out Hannah was hoping I'd make one for her, so great job Ryszard for talking me into making one!}
