Beach Day!

If you know me you know that I'm just a little bit obsessed with the beach.  Today Ryszard and I thought it was the best day to go. Ryszard had the day off of work and although it is summer we figured going on a Tuesday would be better than the weekend.  After a 3 hour drive out to our chosen spot we drove around Hampton Beach in New Hampshire. but decided on Salisbury Beach on the Massachusetts coast. So just as we were ready to head to the sand a storm came rolling in. {JOY!} thankfully it passed by with in the hour and we were able to have some fun on the beach. Both Brock and Nicholas LOVED it. We gathered seashells {a must for me,} played in the very cold waves, and tried to build a few sand castles.

This next picture sums up the perfect beach day we had.

2 weeks and 35 years!

Little Nicholas had his 2 week check up today. He is now 8 lbs 14 oz and 22 inches long! Nicholas was such a good little patient today and impressed the doctor by being just one good stretch away from rolling over!

We are also celebrating Ryszard's Birthday today! We went out to dinner with some friends Tuesday night, which was really nice and Brock and I made a very creative gift for daddy. Brock painted a canvas with blue, green and brown paint after that dried I went back and added some words that describe Ryszard words such as daddy, father, strong, builder and so on. I got my idea for this gift from Wordle.net. I hope he likes it.
Ryszard turns 35 today! Man he is OLD!

A Wrestler

Some of you may have heard that my husband at one point in time was considering the art of Professional Wrestling as a career possibility. {I am happy to say that this was long before I met him!} When we were trying to decide on a name for our little Bubbas, Ryszard loved the suggestion made by his brother, TITAN, {Which I believe was suggested as a joke!}. I was none too thrilled about this name. I mean come on Titan??? Isn't that the name of a truck?!
"That's the idea!" said Ryszard. "No one will mess with a guy as big as a truck!"
I should have known right then that I was in for trouble.
We ended up settling on Brock. {Little did I know then that Ryszard had picked this name because of a wrestler: Brock Lessner} I just thought it was cute, and so much better than Titan! Well since Brock was a week old Ryszard has been doing little wrestling moves with him, quietly teaching him tricks and holds to use.
Today before church I was trying to get a picture of Brock and myself. Brock was somewhat distracted by the birds singing and the warm sunshine. But I did catch this:
If this isn't the face of a little wrestler in the making then I don't know what is! So Ryszard may be living out his dream through his son one of these days, {although if it were up to me I'd rather he go into a less violent sport, like bowling!} giggles :)
I also thought Brock looked totally cute in this picture. { Yes, I was in it too, but that's what I love about digital cameras and photo shop, I can crop myself out anytime I want!}

Happy 34th!

My Hubby turned 34 yesterday! Although he wasn't feeling to great, {a little under the weather} he made effort to go out for dinner. We went to Longhorn Steakhouse for what Ryszard called "A Man's Meal!" Brock had just woken up from his afternoon nap and was loving the atmosphere, and our waitress. Every time she walked by he would watch her and call out. We then went home for dessert:
That's right a football cake, What did you expect?
Happy Birthday
Babe!

Quote of the Week ~Gratitude

"Let us reflect gratitude for our fathers. Father . . . is ever willing to sacrifice his own comfort for that of his children. Daily he toils to provide the necessities of life, never complaining, ever concerned for the well-being of his family. This love for children, this desire to see them well and happy, is a constant in a time of change." ~Thomas S. Monson

Ever since Brock was born Ryszard as been a constant example of love. He is very protective of Brock and myself. Always making sure the doors are locked, reminding me to drive safe, and making sure the little things are put away so Brock doesn't find new "toys" to put into his mouth. At times I joke about how annoying his little protectiveness can be, but I am truly grateful for the love he shows Brock and myself daily.

My Amazing Husband!

I want to tell my husband Thank You for coaching me through all of this. For looking down (when everyone advised you not to) and for cutting the umbilical cord, something you didn't want to do. Without your help I never would have been able to bring little Brock into this world.
Thank you so much Honey for everything you do for me and all the love and gentle care you are providing for our new precious little boy. I love you the most! Now and Forever!

The Power to Move Mountains

We've recently discovered that our growing baby has the power to do amazing things! Move mountains... or at least Ryszard! Last night while Ryszard was talking to baby and feeling his little kicks and punches. When all of a sudden the baby gave a really good blow that sent Ryszard straight to his feet and out of the room! (Me laughing the entire time.) Apparently Ryszard thought I was just exaggerating the fact that the baby really does know how to kick! Like that's something I need to exaggerate.

Belly button speaker!

Lately Ryszard has taken up talking to the baby directly into my belly button. As if it's some sort of speaker for the baby! It really is quite cute.

I Love~

Seashells!
It kind of goes along with my love of the beach. I love combing for seashells. I think it's amazing how many different varieties there are. How many different shapes, and colors, and textures.
(This is one of my all time favorite pictures. A few days before getting married in San Diego, Ryszard combed the beach for me. I love how his hands formed a perfect heart.)
