Brock's first "boo boo"

Do you see It? The little bump in the middle of his forehead right above his nose?

I placed Brock in his crib real quick while I was in the bathroom. When I came back to get him, he got really excited and let go of the crib to clap his hands. He ended up falling forward into the crib rail. He didn't cry at all, just got right back up and started laughing. I picked him up and went to get his breakfast ready. When I sat down in front of his high chair to feed him his banana and oatmeal cereal, I noticed a big bump on his forehead. I tried putting a cold pack on it as much as I could but little Brock is super strong and wasn't liking it. He continued to push it away and ended up pinching me a few times. {Not one of the big pinches either the little tiny itty bitty ones that hurt like...well they hurt.} Anyway I did get it to go down a little bit but still the first boo boo is never any fun!
At least Brock was able to just shake it off.

First FIVE!

A friend of mine had this on her blog and I joined in on the fun so the first 5 people to respond to this post will receive something made by me to you....my choice...made especially for you.

Of course there are some restrictions and limitations:

1} I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!
2} What I create will be just for you.
3} It will be done sometime this year. ( but most likely within the next month or so!}
4} You have no clue what it will be... it may be a story; it may be poetry or an article on properly cleaning your face before a masque. I may draw or paint something; I may bake something and mail it to you. Who knows? Not you, that's for sure.
5} I reserve the right to do something extremely strange. {but I doubt I will}

The catch? Oh, the catch is that you must re-post this on your blog and offer the same to the first 5 people who do the same on their blog

Doesn't this sound fun??? Can't wait to see who responds!

HAIR!

For those of you who wanted to see a pic of my new hair color {and the length for Karilyn, because I know she's curious!}
See I take horrible pictures! The first picture really showing the color best, and the second is for a reference as to the length! Anyway this is the longest my hair has ever been, {my hair is layered a little bit, but if you measure from the top of my head down to the hair ends it's 19 inches long!!!!!} I'm pretty proud of myself for not giving in to all those urges to cut it all off! {and believe me there have been a lot!

Quote of the week ~Courage

"In the gospel of Jesus Christ you have help from both sides of the veil, and you must never forget that. When disappointment and discouragement strike--and they will--you remember and never forget that if our eyes could be opened we would see horses and chariots of fire as far as the eye can see riding at reckless speed to come to our protection (see 2 Kgs. 6:16-17). They will always be there, these armies of heaven, in defense of Abraham's seed."~ Jeffrey R. Holland

{how can we ever feel discouraged with words like that?}

Time For A Change.

About 7 years ago I decided I wanted a change. I colored my blond hair to a medium brown and loved it! I ended up going a little darker just before I met Ryszard. Since then it's been through a range of colors {my hair always gets lighter in the summer and then I end up coloring it darker, only to have it get bleached by the sun again. You'd think I would learn to go with the flow by now!} anyway last night I decided to color my hair again, {this is the first time I've colored it since august 200}. and I love it! It's back to being a dark brown, which I know Ryszard will LOVE!
{I'll try to post a pic, but let' face it, I hate getting my picture taken so I'm not promising anything!}

Tutu pictures

My niece Julia, now has her new tutu so I can finally post a picture of the final product!
Julia really liked her tutu, and actually went through and tied the ends of all the yellow tulle. {I left it up to her, because I wasn't sure if she would want it tied or not}
I also made a tutu dress for my brother's baby, Ashlyn, who is due in March.
I haven't heard if they have received it yet, I'm hoping they like it! I was really happy with the way they turned out! {Ryszard wasn't big on the knots and fun furry yarn, but them again he doesn't really know how much fun little girls are! {I really enjoy making these tutu's but wish I had a little girl to dress up! I guess my neices will have to do, for now!} I do have plans on making a dinosaur tail, and super capes for Brock for when he gets a little older and into the whole pretending/ dress up stage!

Going Places!

Brock has started to crawl forward this week, and now it's almost impossible to keep him in one place. I want him to have plenty of time, to move around and discover and explore, but sometimes it's necessary to keep him contained, at least for a moment.

Also Brock has discovered some new foods this past month. Orzo and Rice {real people food, without being mashed, or pureed} Guava fruit and Turkey!
{YUMMY!!!}He really is growing up fast! But we're loving it.

Quote of the week ~Courage

The following quote is probably one of my favorites concerning courage.

"Of course, we will face fear, experience ridicule, and meet opposition. Let us have the courage to defy the consensus, the courage to stand for principle. Courage, not compromise, brings the smile of God's approval. Courage becomes a living and an attractive virtue when it is regarded not only as a willingness to die manfully, but also as a determination to live decently. A moral coward is one who is afraid to do what he thinks is right because others will disapprove or laugh. Remember that all men have their fears, but those who face their fears with dignity have courage as well." ~Thomas S. Monson,

Happy 34th!

My Hubby turned 34 yesterday! Although he wasn't feeling to great, {a little under the weather} he made effort to go out for dinner. We went to Longhorn Steakhouse for what Ryszard called "A Man's Meal!" Brock had just woken up from his afternoon nap and was loving the atmosphere, and our waitress. Every time she walked by he would watch her and call out. We then went home for dessert:
That's right a football cake, What did you expect?
Happy Birthday
Babe!

Quote of the week ~Courage

For the Month of February, I'm personally working on strengthening my courage. This months "Quote of the week" post will all revolve around Courage.

"When filled with God's love, we can do and see and understand things that we could not otherwise do or see or understand. Filled with His love, we can endure pain, quell fear, forgive freely, avoid contention, renew strength, and bless and help others in ways surprising even to us." ~John H. Groberg,
