Park, Children's Museum and more.

I often find myself planning days of activity for my boys. when the weather permits we go to the park I'll pack a lunch and extra water and we will spend the whole day at the park. Brock never tires of all the climbing structures, occasionally he will go down a slide or 2 but he mostly climbs up the stair down the stairs, up the slide, up the spider web rope, etc. And he stirs clear of the swings {he's not a big fan of those} Nicholas on the other hand is happy just running here and there and tries to climb the big stairs but I like him to stay on the smaller structures and he is happy with that. he's given up on the swing the past few park visits in favor of the slides. He'll climb the 4-5 stairs and then slide down {on his tummy feet first} every time, and then if I'm not right there at the bottom to guide him he'll plop down on his rear end! It always surprises him a little bit, but makes him smile too. So cute! On most days we spend 3-4 hours at the park and it takes a lot for me to get either of them to sit for a moment to drink some water, or eat a quick bite. Like I said my boys are ACTIVE!

Yesterday I took the boys to the Children's Museum in Holyoke. with and change of clothes and some snacks packed we headed out. by the time we left to go home and have lunch they we ravenous. but here is some of the fun things we did that day:

 Water table play

and climbing the curvy, bumpy tree {or whatever it is}

we had a little fun at some of the other exhibits but for the most part we stayed at these two structures. My boys were drenched when it was time to go so we had a quick snack while I took turns changing each of them out of the wet clothes. {Thanks goodness I remembered to bring them} and then a few days ago Nicholas was having fun wearing his brothers hat! he's such a ham!

A visit to the ER...

If you didn't know already, my boys are pretty active. After a morning full of story time, visiting the animals at Petco, and picking up a few items at Target, we headed to the grocery store to get just a few more items. "No store Mom, I tired" it was nap time but I thought we could do one more errand and then he could have his wonderful 4 hour nap {yep, He takes 4 hour naps, well if he takes a nap that is}
While checking out Brock decided to try climbing onto the self check out belt. I told him he neededto get down or he could get hurt.
He kept trying.
I finished paying and saw out of the corner of my eye his hand slip, heard a pretty big bang and sighed. Then I heard him crying. I looked down and saw a whole lot of blood in his hands. Thankfully I had a napkin in my hand at the time and quickly put it to his mouth.  There was a lot more blood. I got another napkin and then another and a few of the people working came to help me. They got me some paper towels, and a glass of water, a ice pack, and a few more things.
Brock was scared. and asking for a band aid. I was calm and focused. I noticed the tooth lying on the floor and immediately put it into his sippy cup of milk. {all the while knowing that it's a baby tooth and they wouldn't be putting it back in, but just in case. What I was worried about was the fact that his jaw looked like it had broken as well.
I called Ryszard a few times and he finally picked up and we decided to take Brock to the ER.
Just to be safe.  "No doctor Mom, I tired"  on the way to the hospital, {a hour and a half after first telling me he was tired} he finally fell asleep.
After 3 hours we are home. Brock is his normal active, jumping, climbing, one less tooth self.  Just a bit of trauma and thankfully his jaw is fine too! So now the reveal:

A picture I took this morning:

my concern:

A smiling boy, with one less tooth.

Not really the way we wanted  Brock to lose his first tooth, but we're happy it wasn't anything worse.
