Beach Day!

If you know me you know that I'm just a little bit obsessed with the beach.  Today Ryszard and I thought it was the best day to go. Ryszard had the day off of work and although it is summer we figured going on a Tuesday would be better than the weekend.  After a 3 hour drive out to our chosen spot we drove around Hampton Beach in New Hampshire. but decided on Salisbury Beach on the Massachusetts coast. So just as we were ready to head to the sand a storm came rolling in. {JOY!} thankfully it passed by with in the hour and we were able to have some fun on the beach. Both Brock and Nicholas LOVED it. We gathered seashells {a must for me,} played in the very cold waves, and tried to build a few sand castles.

 This next picture sums up the perfect beach day we had.

"Is it school time Mom?"

  I started school time with the boys at the beginning of the year everyday we do some sort of learning activity. sometimes days it's five minutes long other days it's over an hour. depending on how cooperative the boys are.  Every once in a while I feel like blowing it off and just relax then Brock comes in caring his box of crayons and his workbook, and says:  "Is it school time Mom?"

 How can you argue with that.

Distressing is an art...

Distressing furniture is and art! Most kids would love to help you out at banging furniture with any sort of hard object, although how do you keep them from doing it to all the other furiture in the house. A clubfoot mommy friend of mine reminded me of the wonderful Art our little ones love to create with their brace. Brock's old crib is one beautiful piece of Art! {Don't worry Nicholas doesn't mind the distressing at all.}
So if you are interested in distressing some furniture in the near future.. I plan of renting out Brock, equipped with his tools aka his Ponseti brace, for some fun furniture bashing art!

Round and rounds....

That's what we call ceiling fans around here. The other day when I stopped by Lowes to pay a bill but Brock got side tracked and ran off to his own little heaven!
the ceiling fan section. He seriously loves ceiling fans, why??? I haven't got a clue! but it makes him happy to just look at all the round and rounds. And so yes! I indulge him..... at least for a few minutes and then we wave bye bye and we're off to our next adventure!

Brock's turn to play!

The other day Brock decided it was his turn to play a little Xbox 360. With Ryszard recovering from surgery he's been playing a lot of this at all hours of the night and day, and Brock has been looking on patiently buying his time to get a little play action. A few days ago he climbed up into the chair and took his place in front of the screen. {Don't worry he didn't play long, only a few minutes and then he was off to his books, but it was very cute to see him sitting there playing just like daddy!}

New Discovery

So I think I actually found a fruit that Brock does not like. At first I thought him leaving it on his tray was because he was full, but after a few more tries I think he has decided not to like cantaloupe. I can't really blame him I hated this fruit as a child and only recently started liking it. I think I will still give him little pieces when I have them, but I'd really like to avoid another cantaloupe piece in my eye.

Torpedo Brock

With Ryszard being down in Alabama this weekend for a football game, I have had Brock all to myself. So needless to say I became a little tired of chasing him during Church. So during Closing exercises in Primary, I just let him crawl around. The minute I put him down he was off. A boy in primary Austin mentioned he had warp drive because he'd be on one side on the room one second and the next he's on the completely opposite side. After circling the room about a dozen times during our 10 minutes of closing exercises I was happy to get Brock into the car, and even happier that he konked out before I even left the parking lot. He is now slepping softly and I'm enjoying a minute or two of relaxation!
We're off to pick up Ryszard later tonight, hopefully my invisible tattoo won't reappear! {check my previous post for the story behind this one!}

Forward Continued...

Let me first state that Brock has always loved his rides in the car, a few times he has gotten upset, but that was either after being in the car seat for too long, or it being too dark outside and he wasn't able to see anything out the window. Well since turning his car seat around, he has loved his rides. Although now he can see me at every moment and chooses to now throw his bottle, books, toys, etc at my arm! So even though I am happy with his love of the new way to ride, I could do without and milk soaked, bruised up arm. Maybe I should remove my target tattoo that only he can see!

Writing our Missionary!

Yes, we have a missionary! It's my baby brother Mark. I wrote him a quick email today to let him know he has a new nephew. My sister April had her second baby boy this morning he's way cute and looks like his brother Riley! Anyway I wanted Mark to be let in on the good news, and I also told him about my pregnancy! I also mentioned how I was taking Brock to Coldstone to get his FREE birthday ice cream creation!
So I just check My email and my brother wrote back, not much, just a quick "thanks for the news, don't have time to write, Coldstone ROCKS!" Yeah that was it. Three simple things to say in response.
They say the field is White and ready to Harvest. By Mark's response that must be true!

PS. If you want to get a free ice cream creation on your birthday too, just go to coldstonecreamery.com and join their birthday club!
{ I recently joked with some friends that I needed to have another baby so I could get one more free ice cream every year.}
We are super excited about having another free ice cream, ahh I mean baby on the way!

Climbing Adventures..

On Sunday Ryszard watches Brock during the 2nd and third hour of church so I can focus on my other kids! The entire Primary, I am/was the music leader. Although I have been released and am now the 2nd counselor in the primary presidency! But I am still filling in as music leader until we find a new music leader. Anyway when Ryszard brought Brock up to me after church he informed me that Brock crawled up all the stair 3 and 1/2 times. {Our stairs here at the house are behind a closed door so he doesn't bother them}, and thus far has been uninterested in climbing stairs, but now that he knows how, he has been climbing on and off everything, the couch, the bed, the chairs. Looks like I have a little climber on my hands!

Brock Holmes!

last Saturday Ryszard spent some time helping a friend build his garage. Brock and I stopped by to see the process and Brock decided he wanted to drive Daddy's truck. {Ryszard has wanted me to post these pics for a while and I've finally got around to it!}
Ryszard and I are big fans of the show Holmes on Homes, and think Brock totally looks like a little Mike Holmes in these pics!

This one magically appeared on here when I was uploading pictures! It's cute so I just let it stay!

Have keys will drive!

Honestly, I'm not a big fan of driving, Brock on the other hand is 10 months going on 16years! He has taken the keys and has no intention of slowing down!

He did take some time to test drive a few of the latest models.

Okay so he's not really driving, but he sure did love these cars at the play space in the mall.
I'm not a huge fan of these play areas, they always look so gross and dirty. But Brock noticed it last week and I just could not say no. He was going nuts over all the kids playing inside. There was one little boy who came right up to him to say "HI", Brock followed him around the rest of the time, always laughing hysterically every time that little boy came up to him.
Brock loves being around other people, especially kids. Ryszard and I did end up going out for dinner on our anniversary Saturday night, and Brock loved waving hi to everyone around us! It was too CUTE!

A Wrestler

Some of you may have heard that my husband at one point in time was considering the art of Professional Wrestling as a career possibility. {I am happy to say that this was long before I met him!} When we were trying to decide on a name for our little Bubbas, Ryszard loved the suggestion made by his brother, TITAN, {Which I believe was suggested as a joke!}. I was none too thrilled about this name. I mean come on Titan??? Isn't that the name of a truck?!
"That's the idea!" said Ryszard. "No one will mess with a guy as big as a truck!"
I should have known right then that I was in for trouble.
We ended up settling on Brock. {Little did I know then that Ryszard had picked this name because of a wrestler: Brock Lessner} I just thought it was cute, and so much better than Titan! Well since Brock was a week old Ryszard has been doing little wrestling moves with him, quietly teaching him tricks and holds to use.
Today before church I was trying to get a picture of Brock and myself. Brock was somewhat distracted by the birds singing and the warm sunshine. But I did catch this:
If this isn't the face of a little wrestler in the making then I don't know what is! So Ryszard may be living out his dream through his son one of these days, {although if it were up to me I'd rather he go into a less violent sport, like bowling!} giggles :)
I also thought Brock looked totally cute in this picture. { Yes, I was in it too, but that's what I love about digital cameras and photo shop, I can crop myself out anytime I want!}

A Few Random Moments

As I tried to put Brock down for his nap yesterday he fought me every step of the way. So of course I let him stay up, no big deal right? Or so I thought, until we were sitting down for dinner and after a couple of bites little Brock did this:
Dead asleep in his chair. I usually catch him before he falls asleep, but this time he showed no signs of being tired. He was sitting up perfectly eating each bite and then all of a sudden this:
Brock also loves taking a bath. He kicks and screams every time we have to take him out, but we can't leave him in there all night, can we? Here's my cute little bath tub baby!

Eggs, Asparagus and Corn.

Yummy right? Well, maybe not all at once but those are the 3 new foods Brock has tried in the past few weeks. He loves asparagus, which is good because Ryszard and I love it too!Corn went over well too, although who doesn't love corn? And a few days ago I gave him eggs for the first time. although he kind of filled up on his oatmeal and peaches first so I'll have to give them another try before I can say he loves them! Brock continues to do really well with all the new foods he is introduced to. It makes me very happy! His favorites are still avocados and butternut squash, {which are a few of my favorites too!}
Brock also loves when we go out to eat. He likes to flirt with the waitresses! He's a ladies man already! Oh BOY!

Crawling Adventures

Brock has been scooting around for a little while now, backwards, but still scooting. Today while I was busy writing a quick congratulations comment on a friends blog, Brock found himself in what I'm sure was a very uncomfortable position!

Underneath the arm chair!

I thought it was just too cute!

And he was all smiles, so it must have been funny to him too!

No...No...Okay!

Brock loves to play with the edge of the rug, which is fine, except he then wants to eat the edge of the rug, which is just nasty! He always finds himself here:
so I say, "No!" He then makes this face:and I again say, "No!" He then smiles real big, {meanwhile never letting go of the rug!} so I say, "Okay!"
{How could I tell this cute face No again?}

Something Funny....

and I said it too!
Well at least I think it's pretty funny you be the judge:
Yesterday at church someone came up to me and mentioned what good work I do {referring to Brock} he also said I guess Ryszard helped out a little there. I in turn said...
"Well anyone can mix the dough but it takes the right oven to bake the bread!"
{ Ryszard doens't think I'm very funny but I have to say I'm one of the funniest people I know!}

There were 3 in the bed...

and the little one said ROLL OVER! This morning I wasn't quite ready to get out of bed so Ryszard brought Brock into the bed with me, and for some reason Brock think he's the one who needs the queen size bed. Or at least it appears that way because here he is smack dab in the middle taking up all the room!
