Brock's First Visitor At Home...

Brock had his first home visit today from Sister Lynn Wightman, our Ward Relief Society President. She brought us a delicious dinner (Chinese food) as well as a very cute outfit for Brock. Thank you Sister Wightman!

My Amazing Husband!

I want to tell my husband Thank You for coaching me through all of this. For looking down (when everyone advised you not to) and for cutting the umbilical cord, something you didn't want to do. Without your help I never would have been able to bring little Brock into this world.
Thank you so much Honey for everything you do for me and all the love and gentle care you are providing for our new precious little boy. I love you the most! Now and Forever!

A Little Run Down Of Brock's Arrival

Ryszard an I are so happy to FINALLY have baby here! I was starting to get a little too impatient for his arrival. After church on Sunday, I was eager to get the ball rolling, so after feeling a few contractions I decided to go on a walk. While on the walk I called my mom and she had me put the phone to my belly and then talked to baby encouraging him to start making his way out! At around 9:35p.m. Sunday night, I felt a new sensation, (what I thought to be my water breaking) so we decided to head to the hospital. Sure enough I had ruptured and they admitted me. I needed to wait for a series of penicillin before they could really do anymore examining or start anything. (Sunday night was the longest night ever! Just being so uncomfortable and not being able to sleep and just waiting for 7:00a.m. to come around so we could start the Pitocin to get the contractions to move along faster because they weren't moving fast enough. By this point my contractions were getting pretty strong and my lower back felt as if it was hit by a mack truck. Despite my wanting to go all natural I gave into the Epidural after dealing with the pain for some 15 plus hours. At 1:00pm it was time to start pushing. Even though I was numb I could still feel the contractions (which felt more like cramping then) so the nurse encouraged me to push when I felt the need. A mere hour and 19 minutes later precious Brock was here. What a hard and painful process, but completely worth every minute!!!

Very Memorable MEMORIAL DAY!!!

He's Here! FINALLY!!!
Today, May 26th, 2008 (MEMORIAL DAY) at 2:19p.m. Eastern Standard Time, BROCK LOGAN MILEWSKI was born and joined our Eternal Family at Bay State Hospital in Springfield, MA.
Although I was way off on guessing his size, (my hope/guess was at least 10 lbs. and 24 inches long) he was born a good, big, healthy sized baby at 8 lbs, 6 oz's and 21 inches long. It took everything that Jocelyn had and then some to push him out. After being in labor for some 20 plus hours, Jocelyn was finally dilated enough to begin pushing. She pushed now and then for nearly an hour and 20 minutes and he finally came out! I can't imagine if he had been any bigger how in the world Jocelyn would have gotten him out! After seeing what Jocelyn had to go through to get this "little one"out, I am glad that he was nowhere near 10 lbs. or 24 inches... His head alone looked way too big to fit through!
He is healthy and seems to be adjusting to life outside of mommy's tummy just fine. He had been moving around a ton (like an amusement park ride) all through and during the pregnancy and the delivery was no different. Even now, on the outside he seems to like to move and squirm has a strong kick. He's definitely going to be a fighter... :)
I feel so lucky and blessed (like I just won the lottery, but only better!) that Heavenly Father has blessed and entrusted Jocelyn and I with such a precious and beautiful bouncing baby boy!
This experience has definitely made this Memorial Day one that will be a very memorable one for years to come!

Sincerely,
~Ryszard~

Still no baby yet!

And I'm starting to get a little frustrated! My mom and niece will be here in just over a week. And I'd really like to have already had the baby and hopefully not be in the hospital. Ryszard and I tell baby everyday, "Today is such a perfect day for you to come." but baby has his own plans I guess! (already like his father, last minute for everything) I know I know he'll come when he's ready! But you think after everything I've done so far he might want to help mommy out just a little and come NOW! What more can I do.?
Oh well all in good time. Hopefully by the next time I post I'll have some baby news to report! cross your fingers!

Having a Baby

I spent most of yesterday a bit uncomfortable. with lots of back pain and cramping. I was having contractions all day. Nothing too painful. just uncomfortable. We really thought the baby was making his way out. I had kind of made up my mind not to go to the hospital until I had regular contractions for a hour. But they were just too spread out. So I finally just went to bed. I woke up this morning a little uncomfortable. and had a few more contractions. and then got ready for my doctor's appointment. wishful thinking that with how I felt yesterday I would at least progress a little. But nothing! I'm still dilated to a 2 and effaced 60% so unless this baby comes like a freight train tonight, I don't think he'll be here before his due date. {as much as we would like him to} But now I'm off to do some walking, maybe drive down some bumpy roads, anything to get this baby moving along!

Moses Basket.

I have always loved Moses Baskets. I remember the one my mom had for us when we were little and I thought they were just about the cutest things ever. I knew I wanted one for my own baby when the time came. I got a great deal on this one from Target. It came completely white so I added some of my fun "funky stars" and there you have it. The perfect little moses basket

Funky Stars

My new little project to pass the time. I've decided instead of spending the extra money on "designer" fashions for the baby I'd rather create my own. From the beginning I've tried to buy very neutral basics for the baby. Lots of ecru and white, but that in it's self isn't very fun. So I made myself a pattern for a couple different styles of stars. "funky stars" as I like to call them, because they're not perfectly shaped. And let's face it I'm pretty "funky" myself! I finally finished stitching them today. I think they came out great! I used left over fabric from my burp cloth project, a few layers of muslin and some pellon, {to give them a bit more stiffness} stitched them together with some embroidery floss and Wha La!

My new funky stars to decorate with.

Some of the projects I'm thinking of:
A cute border of stars to go around the moses basket. Maybe one on the hamper. and my own little hand made mobile for the baby's crib. I'm also wanting Ryszard to cut some out of wood and turn into some peg hooks. I'll definitely have to post some pics of the finished projects!

Doctor's Visit

I went for what I'm hoping is the last doctor's visit I'll have before the baby gets here. I haven't gained any weight in the past three weeks so I'm thinking maybe he's grown all he can and now just needs to find his way out! {If you remember I wanted him to come TODAY!} Anyway so the visit went fine. And I'm doing great I'm now dilated to a 2 {almost} and effaced 60% so not much change for 2 weeks ago. But ever since the appointment. I've just been feeling very blah. Like almost sick to my stomach blah. {so maybe he will make his appearance TODAY!} I said that in bold cause let's face it I'm ready! I've been doing everything I can think of to help baby make his move! But if you have any suggestions of what may work let me know. I'll try just about anything!

Brown M&M's

I stopped eating brown M&M's a long time ago. There's just something about the brown ones that just doesn't taste right. I once had a friend blindfold me and taste each color one by one. I always spit out the brown ones. {I told you they taste weird} When Ryszard and I first met I mentioned this crazy tidbit to him, and to my surprise he totally understood and said he didn't like the brown ones either. Which to me was awesome, I wasn't the only "crazy" one anymore. Lately Ryszard has only been eating the green ones {don't know why that is} and saving the rest for me. So by the end of the bag there's just a whole bunch of brown M&M's left. That end up in the trash, cause really what am I going to do with them? Sure as not going to eat them myself! But hey if you're one of those nuts out there who enjoy those "brown" ones. Let me know and I'll just send them your way!

Something to Jump on.

I've been taking walks everyday, and trying to stay as active as possible. Hoping this baby will find his way out! {before the end of the month} Not that things are really that uncomfortable. There's still another week and a half until baby's actual due date. We just really want him here already! Seriously it feels like I've been pregnant FOREVER! Not that I'm complaining, things are still going well. It's just that baby will have a lot more room to grow if he would just come! But it looks as if he's just too comfortable in there. I was talking to my mom the other day and she mentioned that it took a trampoline to get me out. So maybe that's what baby want, something to jump on. {Although I can't say it'll be to comfy}

For those of you wondering. Yes! I did get Ryszard to move that trunk. The very next day in fact, without me even asking/reminding him to do it. I guess posting things on the blog will help motivate him.
What else do I need done???

Happy Mother's Day

These are the flowers Ryszard got me for mother's day. I love them. I love the beautiful fragrance they give a room. There are always so many little things mother's do. Makes you wonder why there's only one day to celebrate these amazing women in our lives. Whether it be you own mother, grandmother, sister, or friend. There really is no better way to show them your love and appreciation, then those everyday reminders. A phone call, a card, some flowers, a hug. To all of you mother's out there, Happy Mother's Day!

Over Worked.

I think I may have over done it today. I had the day off from work. { Yes, I'm still working, but I only have 2 more days left} And decided instead of bumming around I'd get up and try to organize a few things. My main goal started out as wanting to move this big hideous trunk from one room to the other, but in order to do that I needed to somehow clean out all the junk that was in the other room. When I started you couldn't even step even a few feet into the room. I was moving books, and boxes, old sleeping bags and camping gear. Although why Ryszard still has that is a total mystery to me, seeing as he hasn't used it since "Boy Scouts". {almost 12 maybe 13 years ago. If not more} My whole goal with the baby coming is to get rid of all those unused items, but Ryszard apparently has others plans. I felt like I was down there cleaning for hours and hours, but it had only been a couple. But by the end of it I was tired, sore and a little too uncomfortable. Maybe there's a reason why you shouldn't be cleaning like that when your 9 months pregnant. {Not that I did any heavy lifting, and I only used soap and water to clean} But still, I really am sore, and so tired. but then again I pretty much woke up tired. On a happier note, now the room is actually somewhat presentable. With only a few more things to go through.
Oh and I still need Ryszard to move that hideous trunk.

The Smell of Summer

I've always had a weird way of feeling summer approach. While most people think of flowers, swimming pools, and BBQ's. My first sense of summer is, and always will be the smell of freshly cut grass. It may be more nostalgia then anything else. Remembering those summer days as a child going over to my grandpa's and watching my older sisters take turns cutting the grass. While the rest of us raked out the clumps left behind, {who likes clumps anyway?}
When they got a bit older it was always my brothers who were supposed to do this chore. But I always ended up mowing. Usually because my mom would beg and beg my brothers to get outside and mow the lawn. And they of course took their own precious time. And me I just wanted it done so my mom would be happy. Funny thing is I actually love pushing a lawn mower around. Which is weird cause most people hate the fact that they need to cut the grass every other week. Or every week for some people. Ryszard is definitely one of those guys. He always puts off this dreaded chore. Knowing he'll just have to do it again next week. And the week after that and the week after that. {But if you ask me I'd much rather deal with cutting the grass every week then push a snow blower every time it snows. At least you don't need to bundle up for the grass.} And yet as much as He hates this chore all I can picture is our baby boy following Daddy around with his little bubble mower. {How freakin' cute would that Kodak moment be?}
Who would of thought, that the smell of freshly cut grass would create such thoughts!

Progress!

So I've started my weekly visits to the doctor (which for me is the most uncomfortable part of this whole pregnancy process). Last week nothing, and this week I'm dilated to a "1" and effaced 50%. Which is what I totally expected to be at this point. Let's here it for progress. Now if I could only get Ryszard to realize how close the baby is to actually being here. {Why is it guys always wait til the very last minute to get things done?}
