Fourth of July

Growing up the fourth of July was always spent at my uncle KC's house. He lives up the street from BYU stadium where they hold a concert entitled the "stadium of fire".
 So we would gather at my uncle's house eat some yummy BBQ and:
 watch the parachute jumpers,
listen to the music/ entertainers from the  stadium,
chat and play badminton with cousins,
and when dusk comes gather in the front yard and watch the fireworks.

  I miss out on a lot of "family gatherings" because we live so far away. So it was nice to be able to participate again in the tradition.  Only this time it was my own kids doing all those fun things too!

Happy Holidays

Sometimes things just don't come out how you planned. Like me trying to get a decent family picture for the "Christmas letter"   Oh well I tried!   maybe when these guys are a little older we will actually all look at the camera together and smile sweetly!

Our little guy Nicholas is not so little anymore!  He will be turning 4 soon and I often find myself watch some home movies and really missing his cute little voice.  He is a shy little guy  and has some Awesome dance moves Just like his mom!  :) He is looking forward to having a little brother and is constantly telling me how he will help me know when baby needs certain things.   He even says he'll help change diapers.
Brock is half way through Kindergarten and LOVING it. He has made some good friends and his teacher loves how helpful he is in class.  He's favorite part of school is reading groups.  and he loves to play games on mommy and daddy's phone.  Brock is also very excited for a new little brother.
 (Brock says he will help with everything EXCEPT diapers.)

We wish you all a very merry Christmas and Joyous New Year!

Christmas Count down

Now that the boys are actually understanding the concept of Christmas a bit more I decided to finally do an advent calendar, I found this cute print out and all you do is add a cotton ball to Santa's beard everyday. I'll admit there were a few days were the boys got to add 2 or 3 cotton balls. They loved it.

Brock's Birthday

Brock has been very excited about celebrating his birthday in Utah this year. He had three requests this morning when I asked him what he wanted for his birthday. They were: Cake, Balloons, and a cars shirt.
Easy enough right. The first thing we decided to do was go to the Disney Store to let Brock pick out his own "cars" shirt.
And while we were there I let the employees know we were there to celebrate his birthday. Brock then got a birthday badge and happy birthday crown.
They even helped him celebrate by having the whole store join in singing Zippity Do Da

{thanks Mom for letting me know about that, it made the day extra special!}
My niece Julia and I then took the boys  to play mini golf {their first time ever} and Brock got a "hole in one" twice!
 {we went to Trafalga in Orem, and since it was a little rainy we played inside on their indoor, glow in the dark course, Nicholas was ready for a nap after the 15th hole!}
We invited the cousins over for cake {costco cake= YUMMY goodness!} and opened presents!

 Happy birthday Brocky! You are such a great boy!
{And just so you know Brock got everything he asked for, and then some. Yep! I spoil him rotten! It's also pretty east to fulfill 3 small requests!}

My Baby is a Big BOY!

Over the weekend Nicholas turned 2 . Brock was very cute saying happy birthday to him all day long. Brock also took it upon himself to open and play with all of Nicholas' birthday presents.  I think Nicholas favorite is the little Jeep his Aunt Wendy and Uncle Adrian sent him from Wyoming. He's been carrying it around almost all day ever since he opened it.  {Even taking it to church with him the next day} We enjoyed a few fun things: dinner at friendly's had friends over to play trains and eat cupcakes, and of course our free ice cream from coldstone! All in all a very Yummy Birthday!
Happy birthday to my little big boy!

Handmade Christmas Gifts, literally!

 I saw something completely cute on pintrest a little over a week ago and decided that's what I wanted to do for the boys grandma's this year. and then I thought I'd make a couple more for Ryszard's Aunt Louise and Cousin Keri. I'm not even sure it's they have received them yet but here's the finished project:

 It was actually really fun, but hard.  remember I did a hand print for each month, times 4. that's a total of 48 pictures some with more than one hand print. and with my boys, although they love to paint doing that many pictures in the space of 30 minutes was a bit much. next year I need something a little easier! but I love how they turned out so I'm happy.

So Babcia, Nana, Lousie and Keri I hope you like it.
  MERRY CHRISTMAS!
and a "HANDY" New Year!

Christmas Eve Fun

While the Hubby went to watch football I decided to: Do a bit of shopping, clean the house, make some yummy holiday cheese balls :), and homemade salsa :). meanwhile I let the kids watch a movie. Brock came in about 20 minutes after it started to tell me Nicholas was on the train table. A big NO NO.
So when I went into to tell him to get off I found this:

 SLEEPING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  and way too cute. I picked him up and placed him on the couch with a blanket. later on I gave in and let the boys open a gift. they both chose a gift from Nana. Nicholas got a cute fun outfit, {love it Mom} and Brock opened to find puzzles! His favorite thing EVER!!! He and Nicholas started putting it together right away

 Five minuets later it was done.
so we moved on to the next one entitled "Balloon Festival". Nicholas put many pieces together all by himself.  My boys are AWESOME!!!!! Thanks Nana for the puzzles!!! We love them.
