Cast Freedom!

On Wednesday we will be taking Brock over to Shriner's Hospital to remove his casts. YEAH! Ryszard and I are both really excited to be over with this part of Brock's Club Foot correction process. {And I'm sure Brock will love not having to be in those hot, heavy casts all day, everyday.} After a series of casting that looked something like this:and surgery to cut his heel cord, we are finally moving onto the next step.
After the removal of his cast, {and hopefully a good leg washing} Brock will be placed into a pair of shoes with a bar attached, known as a Denis Brown Bar.
These shoes are designed to keep his feet in the position we've been working towards. He'll have to wear them full time {about 23 hours a day} for the first three months. Then slowly month by month the amount of time will decrease, so by the time he's ready to walk, he'll only have to wear them at night.
This whole experience has been very interesting. In a way I've loved being able to seeing how far medicine has come, and brush up on those medical classes I took in High School. On the other hand I still forget to add on 20 minutes to everything I do. {We are always being stopped by someone asking "What happened?" and then having to give the "cliff's notes" version to everyone.} At first whenever I went somewhere I'd cover Brock's legs with a blanket, because I got tired of always having to explain everything. But then I decided that if I have the opportunity to educate someone on the whole process why not go for it. I've also been stopped by others who notice the casts, and know that he has clubfoot, because they themselves have been through it. They are always saying, "It works!"
Brock has been amazing through the whole experience.
Ryszard and I are so thankful to have been blessed with such a "Big, Strong Boy!"
We are also thankful to all of you who have kept us in your thoughts and prayers.
Can't wait to show you all the ic's from his BIG day! {Stay tuned for Wednesday!}

Brock Loves his Babcia!

Brock is lucky enough to see and play with his Babcia {Ryszard's Mom} almost daily. He loves when she sings to him. Today they had a little snuggle party before he started smiling away! Babcia loves Brock more than anything! {How could you not, he's too adorable!} And I love hearing her talk to him in Polish. Most of the time I have no idea what's being said, but I still love hearing it. {Maybe Brock will be the one to teach me Polish.} Just wanted to share a few more pictures of Babcia playing with her little LOVE!

Brock's Hands!

As some of you know Brock has recently found his hands. I was playing Mr. Peekaboo with him last night and he quickly lost interest, and decided to play with his own hands instead. Just thought I'd share some of the fun with all of you!

As I was looking through the pictures I had taken of Brock, deciding which ones to get rid of because of bad focus problems I looked down at Brock and found him asleep.
{double rock hands while sleeping, that's my baby!}
I guess playing with your own hands can be pretty tiring. But then again maybe not. because I woke up to Brock doing this...

Playing with his hands again. How adorable is that?

Brock loves his Nana.

I had a coupon for 20 free 4x6 prints at CVS, so I went to print some out and came across this picture on my Mom with Brock taken back in June. Although I do remember taking the picture, I don't think I ever really looked at it until today. I'm really not liking the fact that I am so far away form my family {especially now that Brock is here} but I loved having my Mom and Julia here for a few weeks after Brock was born. I was able to get pictures of Brock with his NANA! and cousin Julia, that I will always cherish. This pic was way too cute not to share. I hope you like it Mommy! {we can't wait to see you in September!}

Totally random post on dreams!

I've always been a dreamer. In high school I had deja vu moments all the time when I realized the things I dreamed about the night before were now actually happening, and no it wasn't moments like: I rode the bus this morning, or hey I'm eating lunch with the same group of people I always do. but actual real deja vu moments. Like dreaming I got and 92 on my mid term, and actually getting a 92...
Mindy West posted on her blog about her husband dreaming that he was a dog, barking and everything {so funny!} and that reminded me of when I woke up in the middle of the night to turn and hug Ryszard and he slapped my arm away..ouch! that really hurt. I told him about it the next day and he said he had been dreaming that someone was trying to stab him and he was just defending himself. {point taken!}
And then there's me, I usually always know when I'm dreaming, something in my sub conscience mind telling me it's only a dream. And I always remember my dreams {ask Ryszard he always hears about the the next morning} funny thing is Ryszard tends to add on to the actual dream as if I'd forget what I was dreaming about. One night I had 2 very different dreams. One I was bullriding, the other I was mad at my mom cause she wanted me to serve some crazy dessert at my reception and I did NOT want to serve it. I was so mad that I was crying while giving in and making the dessert. The crying part woke me up. and I ended up telling Ryszard about both of the dreams I just had. The next morning Ryszard was talking on and on and I finally realized what he was saying. he was repeating my dreams, but not in the way I told them to him, he was mixing both dreams together into one. Saying I was bull riding and yelling at my mom to call the 8 second mark and she wouldn't and that made me mad, and then she made it up to me by making a jello dessert. {hello crazy husband, why would I dream about something crazy like that?} Serves me right for telling him my dreams in the first place, I should of known he would make fun of me.
Oh well, as long as it makes him happy, I'll keep dreaming away!

My weakness!

Food weakness that is!What can I say they are just sooooo yummy!

Vote for BROCK!

I've decided to enter Brock into a contest to be a cover model for the December issue of American Baby magazine. {I can't help it his too adorable!} the rules were to take a picture of you child (3 years or younger) discovering something for the first time. Brock's newest discovery is his hands! {until next week when we hope he'll finally be able to discover he has feet, and legs for that matter!}
Anyway so I need all of you to vote/recommend his picture! {and tell all your friends to vote too!} the more votes/ "recommendations" his picture gets the better his chances of winning! So please please please go HERE to Recommend Brock's picture!
