Just when you think you've done it all....

The day comes when you experience a new adventure, or two! Brock visited the Dentist today for the first time! I meant to take him just after he turned a year and then I decided I'd wait til after a trip to Utah and now 8 months later I finally got around to it. Just so you know Brock LOVES to brush his teeth. I never have to hear him whine or cry about going into the bathroom to brush his teeth, in fact the tears usually come when I beg him to put his toothbrush away so we can continue getting ready for bed. So when the dentist announced he had NO cavities I was not surprised. He has juice maybe once or twice a week and only has sweets on occasion. he was very happy and willing to sit in the chair and let the dental assistant brush his teeth and give him a fluoride treatment. but when the dentist came in and tilted the chair back he freaked out. I asked hem to open his mouth for the dentist like he does for Mommy and he did but he was holding on to my hand pretty tight and tears were flowing. I think he was more scarred of the chair moving than the dentist.

Our second adventure today: Chuck E Cheese! I've discovered that Brock is not into the rides. I think that first jerking motion of it starting scares him a little bit.

Which is fine as long as they have ...BASKETBALL!

I'll tell you that this little boy was in HEAVEN!

Clubfoot Update

Brock had an appointment with Dr. Mack today to check on the progress of his feet. They continue to look very well. We ordered a new set of shoes to go with his brace. Brock spent some one on one time with Dr. Mack coloring!
I meant to get a picture, but Nicholas was feeling a bit left out and wanted to be held. We did get a chance to weigh and measure Brock he's now 31 pounds 6 ounces and 36 inches tall! {Brock wasn't very happy when they were taking the measurements though. I have no idea why but he just didn't want any part of it, but when he was placed back on the floor he was his normal happy self! He's a crazy nut!

What A Wonderful Day!

We had wonderful weather today. After Brock's nap I took the boys to a local park to play. Nicholas just wanted to sleep in the shade. Brock on the other hand was all over the place!

On the way home I asked Brock if he wanted to stop by the Library?

"YEAH!"

I really just wanted to run in and grab a schedule for story times and such, but once inside I knew Brock would want to play with this:

So we had to stay and let him explore a little bit.

This was also Nicholas' first visit to the library.

I think he liked it, but I'll let you decide!

Hunting Eggs

We were invited to a friends house for their traditional Easter Egg Hunt on Monday. I was really excited, not only because it would be Brock's first Egg Hunt but it was our first holiday outing as a family. Brock was in heaven being around all the other kids, we couldn't get him to sit still for a minute. Here are a few pics of the Egg Hunt fun!

Nicholas didn't do much hunting, but he did get lots of hugs! Here he is getting buckled in to go.

Isn't he getting big! Oh how I love my little bear cub!

Family Easter Basket

Last year I decided to do a family Easter Basket, with each member of the family getting one or two little things to celebrate. As Brock gets older and begins to understand more and more, I have started to really think about what holidays we want to celebrate and which ones we really don't want to bother with. I have been a little annoyed at how the holidays have become all about candy and gifts. I mean it's one thing for Christmas and Birthdays, but do we really need candy and presents for every holiday? Easter is a holiday I love not because of egg hunts, or chocolate bunnies, but because of the knowledge I have of my Savior who not only died for me, but who rose up again so that I too may live again.
I really don't want to deny my kids the "fun" of the holidays, but I really want them to know the true meaning and I really don't feel you can have the true spirit of the holiday when you overdue the candy and gifts, {Yes, I realize that one day Brock and Nicholas will probably dislike the fact that I hold out on the candy and gifts.} So I again decided to have a family Easter Basket. {I think this may be our first tradition as a family.}
I included a few little things for everyone, and although I did give a few candy treats to Ryszard, Brock knew nothing about it and could care less!

Included in our Family Easter Basket was "The Animated PASSION" {basically the Easter story animated for kids}. We had a fun morning and I am looking forward to making our Easter Dinner: Garlic Roasted Lamb with Red Potatoes and Asparagus!

While some of you are enjoying fresh snow...

Brock, Nicholas and I enjoyed beautiful sunshine and a warm day at the park. Brock loved climbing and sliding.

I think we may have return tomorrow.
