Another Beach Day

Ryszard was able to take a day off of work to spend with us at the beach. This time we went down to Rhode Island, to Misquamicut Beach. {a recommendation from his boss, so I guess we shouldn't have been so surprised to see him there too!}
 It was AWESOME!
Nice and Hot! Warm sun, great waves, cool water, a little bit more sea weed then we would have wanted} but really it was great.
 The boys had a blast digging in the sand, making water ways, making mountains.

 I dug a few deep holes and buried the boys up to their waist, which they quickly got out of. And of course I let them bury me. {Even if that meant there was sure to be sand EVERY WHERE!

Brock loved jumping the waves,

 Nicholas didn't like it at first and just hung on to my leg,

Ryszard and I finally just had to pick him up and help him jump over the waves.

Soon relaxed a little and jumped a few waves himself.

And then he became super boy, wave jumper as soon as he put his goggles on!

 We gathered a few rocks and pebbles, and found one shell during our digging to add to our collection. These beach days have been awesome!

 Brock and Nicholas made up their own "beach song" in the car on our first beach trip of the summer and sing it often. " beach beach we're going to the beach, the beach the beach we're going to the BEEACCHHH!" {they like to scream the last part.}








 Brock is now asking to go to the beach in Connecticut and Delaware. We will see!

New Playground!

 This picture pretty much sums up our experience at  a new playground.

 

 Oh the joy I have in finding a clean playground for my kids to play at. Oh and actually having restrooms that are open is nice too!

Beach Day!

If you know me you know that I'm just a little bit obsessed with the beach.  Today Ryszard and I thought it was the best day to go. Ryszard had the day off of work and although it is summer we figured going on a Tuesday would be better than the weekend.  After a 3 hour drive out to our chosen spot we drove around Hampton Beach in New Hampshire. but decided on Salisbury Beach on the Massachusetts coast. So just as we were ready to head to the sand a storm came rolling in. {JOY!} thankfully it passed by with in the hour and we were able to have some fun on the beach. Both Brock and Nicholas LOVED it. We gathered seashells {a must for me,} played in the very cold waves, and tried to build a few sand castles.

Brock's 4th Year Stats

Brock had his 4th year check up today ( a little late due to our summer vaca) So bright and early we were on our way. It went well Brock is still in the 90% weighing 44 ponds and 43 inches tall.Brock had a hearing a vision test done and did great! He got a booster DTaP, and Polio vaccine. We also stopped by the lab to check his lead levels, he did NOT like that part at all. But I rewarded him for being so brave with a new toy. He is happy now, and wanting cake! Silly boy. Nicholas gave the nurses some excitement when he pulled the emergency cord in the restroom. All in all a fun day!
 

Family Pictures 2012

I can't tell you how much I love my family photographer. Not only is she my best friend but she is an amazing photographer/ person. Don't you just love these shots she captured?

I am always super excited to have her take our picture. My boys don't stand or sit still for very long so it is very difficult to get a good picture, but somehow, {possibly with the help of Photoshop} she pulls off a great shot every time!

This IS the Place~ Heritage Park

Every time we come to Utah to visit family I always make a few plans to do something fun, different and history related. Last year we visited the Bingham Canyon Copper Mine. Something I remember doing when I was little. {even if the only thing I really remembered about it was the really really really big tire my siblings and I would climb inside of} This year I wanted to check out the This is the Place Heritage Park.. Where Brigham Young had declared Utah as the place for  the pioneers to settle. What a site!  To me is Beautiful. but I can only imagine what my darling pioneer ancestor thought when they looked down on the Salt Lake valley. Seeing as they left lush green land behind in search for Zion. Bless their souls.  
Anyway  the Park is really beautiful. The boys really enjoyed just about everything we saw and did. for instance the little town play place: complete with a wooden train and fun cabins

There was also a fun little petting zoo:  (where Nicholas and Brock both had a pony ride, and where Nicholas enjoyed petting this little piggy!)

We loved visited lots of Replica, and original buildings, the Blacksmith, the Meeting house, Huntsman Hotel, I think our favorite was the school house:

We learned about Discipline in the classroom. The "board of Education",

 the Dunce hat, 

and Brock's favorite (although I forgot what it was called)

but he had to stand on a tree stump face the wall, hold his hands behind him and place a book in each hand. (Brock thought it was great fun)

We did our reading assignment for the day,

 and even studied the Desert Alphabet.

 Where Brock and I wrote our names.

We then took a train ride to the creek

Where we did a little panning and found some GOLD!

 We had a great time.

Yep I'm always happy when my baby sleeps!
